Branding You Before Your Product Or Company

Posted on 05. Oct, 2010 by in Dream

Look, I like the company I am with and I strongly endorse their product sure… but at the end of the day, if I spend all my efforts building them up then I only do one thing… make them the important factor.

Now, don’t get me wrong… you need to have the faith and the trust in the company YOU CHOOSE TO ALIGN yourself with sure…

But when you only promote how wonderful the product is or how great the founders are, you remove all the reasons why people should follow you.

Instead, you should approach it like this…

  • This is who I am.
  • This is what I have learned.
  • This is what I can help you with.
  • And here is the company I have chosen to align myself with.

Not the other way around!

If you really want to have an impact in your life or others, then you need to focus on what makes you unique. What you bring to the market place and not what others do. Stay away from the status quo.

The status quo says…

You don’t need to know everything, just promote me and everything will be just fine.

Sure… for them!

Stay away from the quick fix, quick money and easy answer solutions that comes without learning new skills and building your value. Leave that for the dreamers!

Here is a fantastic example of someone who has built a brand around himself. This is why you don’t speak of Michael Jordan as the race car driver, bank teller or just basketball player.

You speak of him because of who he is, what he has learned, what he has done and the sacrifice in discovering the secrets along the way. It’s the only way people in this world become the superstars we idol.

Improve your skills. Improve your game. Build your brand. Become a legend.
