How To Write A Call To Action Like A Ninja
Posted on 19. Feb, 2011 by Dereck Arreguin in HowTo
When writing articles or even blog posts, you always want to give some sort of call to action. This means you give your reader instructions to sign up for your eBook (or your offer).
This one little step was (prior to my discovery) the most important part of my online marketing. Now, it’s just a habit I have in all of my habits when writing articles.
In the video below, you will see how I write a call to action and place it into the author signature box on EzineArticles.com. Which, by the way, should be your first place to post your articles. Read my posting on Article Marketing Basics to learn how to write an article. Then (after learning how to write articles) read my other article posting on Article Marketing Links For Additional Exposure.
Now that your article creation and eduction is up to par, let’s dive in deeper to discover how to build your call to action. Watch the short video below.
ARTICLE MARKETING TIPS
- You can only have 4 links total in your article (on EzineArticles). Two in the body and two in author box.
- The links in your resource box (author box) are your “self serving” links.
- Learn how to place an option on your blog posting by CLICKING HERE.
Article marketing is by far the first skill you should learn about when you are first starting to learn how to market online. I write about this and tell you why in my book called the 5 Step Blueprint which you can get for free.
Anyway you look at it, if you are not placing a call to action in your articles or blog postings, you might be losing quality time within your online marketing efforts.

I think you can have two “non self serving links” in the article body. You could probably have a link that goes to a domain like example.com. Awesome post btw.

I wasn’t aware you could have 4 links on EZA. i was aware or at least I thought you could only have 1 maybe 2 in the author box.
If you are pointing someone back to your blog how would you get around EZA policy of no sub domains since the permalink would technically be a subdomain according to EZA.

Hi Dereck – Thanks for sharing this valuable tactic. Creating a call to action is so important but getting the result we want can be tricky. No one wants to be manipulated or pushed into doing something. Your Ninja strategy with hyperlinks is truly a non-aggressive way to get people to take the action you want them to. I like it!
