iZigg: Is iZigg A Scam?
Posted on 13. Sep, 2010 by Dereck Arreguin in MLM Company Reviews
Can you make money with iZigg?
In the next few minutes, you are about to discover the very real opportunity that exists with izigg and how it could change your life, business and or future with a simple text message.
Plus, I’ll show you how you can increase your outreach and marketing capability by signing up to get a free membership at my private site. There you will undoubtably have a winning combo that could change the game forever! (More Below!)
Founders & Company Information
Little is made public of the brand new company to hit network marketing called iZigg. However, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t provide a very real opportunity to help those who are struggling in todays economy.
Here is what we know about izigg at the date of this publication. IZigg was found in 2010 by two gentlemen who have a dream of becoming the largest and most well know mobile marketing platform today.
The founders of izigg are Brian Underwood and David Liniado. As mentioned before, the history on these two gentlemen are not widely known outside of izigg itself. But we do know that iZigg has a director of social media, and that gentleman’s name is Matt Arndt.
IZigg currently holds the most well recognized “short code” in the mobile media world. 90210 is (according to izigg) the most valuable short term as they compare it to the .com of websites.
According to izigg there is really nothing more powerful in the marketing world than the marketing application to your prospects cell phone. And to prove their point, here are a few reasons izigg has prepared for you.
There are 4.1 Billion people cell phone users on the globe.
- 86% Americans own a cell phone.
- 97% of text messages are opened.
- 83% of those are opened within the same hour.
- 68.7 Million cell phone owners are frequent text users.
Products And Services
The service iZigg provides is a way to communicate with all who “optin” to your list via text message. They provide the service in this communication freeway. The have a whole list of different packages that you can choose from. Anything from the standard “get your feet wet” to mobile media marketing domination.
Here a list of different subscriptions izigg has to offer:

There are 4 ways to join izigg as there is also a initial membership cost before your monthly product purchase.
- Retail Agency – $99.95 annually
- iConnect Agency Promo Pack – $349 one time
- iConnect Pro Agency Promo Pack – $348 one time (You would buy this at the start, read on to find out why)
- Platinum Mastery Program (Limited Time Only) – $2495 Annually
>>> Download The iZigg Press Kit Here <<<
Compensation Plan
>>> Download The Izigg Compenstion Plan Here <<<
The compensation plan in izigg is nothing unique but also nothing that won’t product massive income for those who get started right. Noticed I didn’t say get started early, but get started right.
IZigg formulated their compensation plan around the binary build compensation. This means that you will be expected to build two separate sales teams to help promote the products and opportunity that izigg offers.
When you join iZigg, they will give you the title of MMA (Mobile Media Agency) and then provide you 5 ways to profit within their compensation plan.
- Retail – 25% commission
- Direct Bonus – 25% on all new MMAs
- Override Bonus – Qualification needed. There is a two tier payout with different ranks
- Matching Bonus – Must be a Regional Director (ND) minimum in izigg to receive.
- Executive Car Bonus – Qualification needed. Must have 2 (ED) personally sponsored reps on each side of your binary tree business.
Izigg claims to pay out 70% on all commissionable revenues.
Final Thoughts
Personally I believe that mobile media and the ability to contact your prospects and provide a direct response method of marketing to them is the next wave in the future. No doubt everyone is either playing games, text messaging, watching movies, listening to music on talking on their cell phones. And with the dominating of smart phones hitting the market today, everyone will adapt to this form of communication.
There a few things I would like to address before anyone gets too excited though. Number one, the price of the product is right and so is the very real opportunity behind it. However, most of the izigg reps will never have a large enough list of prospects to market to. And even if they did, they would most likely spam everyone to death with all the messages sent out daily.
We see this today all over most of the worlds most popular social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. People just don’t have the marketing ability that will be required to use this platform effectively with.
The second issue is, the pay out and the rank needed to achieve full time income with iZigg. You see most reps will get involved in iZigg for the real opportunity in it’s income potential, but what most won’t tell you is the rank where that can really start to happen.
The rank I’m talking about here is the RD (Regional Agency Director) position. So I wanted to spell out the requirements for you to get a better perspective.
Requirements:
- Sponsor 10 people on both sides (20) of your business with 20CP (customer points – iConnect monthly – 50CP).
- 20CP each month for yourself
- Active AD rank.
At first glance, this might seem very little to achieve and to some, it’s not going to be an issue. But that some will not include the 95% who will struggle to hit that rank. The reason being is that in the network marketing industry, the industry average amount of people who you sponsor is right around 3 people.
Most companies know this and to expect the average person to enter izigg and make anything resembling a true stay at home income is not likely. Unless…
These distributors have a method of attracting thousands of prospects to them in some sort of way. And I’m sorry to say it to you like this… but no warm market list is going to do that for you in the shortest and easiest way possible.
This is where learning how to market online would be the most beneficial and successful method of marketing for any izigg reps. There you can tap into the 2 Billion people and growing, to stimulate your business exposure.
With a few simple things to learn about marketing and implying it in your iZigg business, you can dominate the competition, increase your profits, increase your team expansion and hit every level, make every dollar and achieve that full time income you are looking into izigg for.
My suggestion to you is to team up the most powerful form of marketing today with the most powerful form of mobile media (iZigg) to form a one two punch combination that will leave people in a daze.
You can sign up my 5 Step Internet Blueprint to start learning the skills to start your REAL marketing efforts today. In todays economy, you can’t afford to simply turn a blind eye to the very real possibility and the power of the internet and it’s 2 Billion users.

No one should have to pay to sell someone elses service. I am not including my company name here but I will say we do not charge Sales Agents/Agencies for the privilege of selling our services. Even the supposed “$375 Average Commission” is misleading. That’s based on a Business signing up for a $1500 per month plan…and the vast majority of them dont!

Pete,
Thanks for stopping by! This is not a company that hires employees, this is a company that helps agents or independent contractors.
Their only requirement to participate in their compensation plan and be paid for referrals, is to also use the product.
Besides, if you don’t like what they ask, then don’t participate.
Have a good one!

Wow Dereck, thats a little over defensive, don’t you think?
We don’t hire employees either so that simply doesnt apply. We deal with 1099 Independent Contractors.
Bottom line is the major flaw in a MLM Business Model is that the company is the only one that usually turns a profit.
I didnt share my website because I am not here to recruit. I just hate to see peoples dreams get taken advantage of and that is usually the case with any MLM based model.
I couldnt help but notice you didnt even comment on the misleading “Average Commission” point I made…wonder why?
Have a better one!

Pete,
As much as I appreciate your comments and your time here, leaving comments that imply network marketing has flaws is pointless. No-one ever said it didn’t have problems, and anything who says something is perfect would be lying anyway.
As for the statement “the company is the only one that usually turns a profit”, explain to the audience about the industrys thousands of millionaires that have been made in the process.
By simply leaving your comments like “I am not including my company name here” or “I am not here to recruit” suggest other intentions besides SEO.
But, don’t come here also suggesting peoples dreams are being taken advantage of. People join this industry for the possibility of regaining their dreams, which is better than most other alternatives.
As a last reminder, you are a guest here on this website and your tone nor your fales comments and absolute disregard of the people who are in this company or this industry are not welcome.
Regardless of your experience in this industry or not, please refrain from those or pointless “one-up” comments.
My suggestion, give the industry and honest try and team up with some good team players. You might learn a few things and meet some great people along the way.

I believe Izigg and all other forms of moblie marketing will be a great success for a time. But after awhile like all other once great marketing ideas the world will become familiar with with mobile marketing. Soon we will be trained to reply stop to these texts, as we tunnel vison past billboards, delete spam emails, close internet pops ups, or throw away advertising mail. My advice to anyone is to get on the mobile marketing right now, before everyone is accustomed to it.

This opportunity was presented to me recently. I have yet to take advantage, but plan on doing so in the VERY near future. As a event promoter, I text weekly to the 2000+ contacts I have in my phone today. However, I am starting to receive many messages asking to be removed.
With this opportunity, I will not have to worry about situations like that any longer. I love the idea of having a back office to track the data, which is perfect for me gaining future sponsors.
I am excited for what’s to come after I sign one with iZigg and later becoming an independent representative. I definitely am looking for information regarding any opportunities in marketing.
Thanks for all of this magnificent information.

Dereck. An excellent post on iZigg. And I read all of the comments with interest. You are 100% right. Text marketing is just one way to build a business but a big one. As you mentioned more people are reading text messages than opening their emails.
iZigg to my knowledge has never nor will ever encourage spamming. To get on my list you have to call me not the other way around and a click of the button unsubscribes you.
Cornering the short code 90210 was brilliant, the costs are on the comparable low side and the only thing sales reps have to be is good at promoting the benefits of combining mobile marketing with print, radio, TV, online.
Great topic Dereck and you did an awesome job.

Commenter,
Sometimes people are lead into this industry the wrong way. However, that doesn’t mean the product doesn’t work or that it wont.
Clearly, there might be some issues with using text messages for marketing. But, this is only one method of communication and should never replace other methods of marketing.
But… here’s a suggestion, make sure you search for a sponsor who can really help you before you join another company in the future. We call it sponsor shopping and it can really help you in your business growth and development.
Have a great day!

One concept people need to keep in mind is that text message advertising is an Opt-In service. Those businesses are posting keywords for their customers to subscribe to by choice. Once a customer CHOOSES to text that keyword, they receive text messages from that business. If they are overwhelmed with the amount of text messages, they can reply STOP and Opt-Out of the subscription. It’s easier to stop text messages than spam email. I have been with iZigg for a few months and I am not rich by all means but it is a good on-the-side source of income.

Hey Cody,
Thanks for the great feed back!
I know a few people inside of iZigg and I can say personally that it is a great concept and rock solid opportunity. However… even when text messages are considered some of the most powerful ways to market today, it’s just one of the many different ways to market and one way will never be the only way.
Just imagine a whole list exploding from all sources of marketing attempts. Thats the power that the internet and iZigg can bring to the table.
Keep working it and have fun. Thanks again for the comment and talk with you soon.

I received marketing materials from iZigg, which led me here. I first thought I had read the description incorrectly, but nope, that is what is being sold. Private cell phone numbers so that users can be spammed with unsolicited text message marketing. I can think of few things that would p.o. the average business owner more than getting junk ads that YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR! I for one will be happy to start litigating against iZigg if I were to receive these on my phone.. Fortunately I now know who is promoting this. I just feel sorry for the people getting sucked into the “business” of trying to sell this illegal concept.

Interesting thats for sure. Selling the ability to use SMS text messages is one of the most powerful methods of marketing today. Right now, there is a larger chance that my text message will be opened before my email that I broadcast out.
However…
Purchasing he right to spam people because their cell phone number is public is just a bad idea. I’ve known about this for a while now (because it happens to me often).
About 4 years ago, there was a law passed that gave away the rights to people and their privacy on their cell phones. Just a few months ago, the law went into action and now it is perfectly legal for solicitors to contact or spam as they wish.
Just image solicitors calling your once private cell phone (or even texting) like your home phone. But of course you can pay extra to have it be “private”.
But… I doubt many inside of iZigg will actually participate in that at all. Now, I might be wrong, and since I’m not in iZigg myself… I wouldn’t actually know. But I know many great quality people inside of this company and would be shocked to learn that it was how they were building their business.
We’ll just have to wait and see.

I’ve had many careers in my life from owner operator of construction co., nightclub owner-operator, insurance agent and district manager. I joined Amway when things were tough, (failed) and a couple of multi-level marketing scams. I was top salesman as ins. agent and had top team as a district manager. I am now considering izigg. I have been retired since I was 50 and live comfortably but a friend and salesman who once worked for me asked me to look into this. He’s a great salesman and convinced me to have a look.
Direct sales is a hard competitive business and not all who think they can sell really can. Timidity and fear usually win out since most people cannot convince themselves that “NO” is not personal. Rejection is something no one likes and it effects everyone, even the top salespeople from time to time; including me. I overcame the word “NO” and taught my people to continue selling until they had at least 7 “NOs” or 3 “HELL NOs”.
My point is that you should not enter into any sales position that requires canvassing and cold-calling unless you are prepared to accept rejection of the product. To take someone’s time and not ask for it. People will be rude, and some may be physical in their rejection. If you are not prepared for this, if you do not have a thick skin; then I would say any direct sales job is not for you.
If you are a man who has “presence” are quick-witted, fast thinking, with high energy level and remember that rejection is usually meant for the product and not you, then you should do as well as you want to.
If you are an attractive woman with the above qualities, you will at least get to present what you offer more often than a man. This isn’t chauvinism, just the way that the world of direct sales works.

My sister joined Izigg. I find it nearly impossible to make a real living at what she is doing. She tries and tries and gets nowhere. I think 1 or 2% of people MIGHT make a living at this, but the majority will work hard and never get a real pay check. There’s nothing wrong with getting a regular job, working hard and investing your money. So many people are wasting their time with Izigg. It makes me feel bad.

Dear Paul,
I’m sorry that is how it looked for your sister and her business. The truth and reality of todays home based business is a harsh one.
Not that it can’t be done, but rather people who’ve never had a real or successful business are out there telling others how to do it. That is dangerous in itself.
As for nothing wrong about getting a regular job… I don’t agree with you there.
A J.O.B. is only there and willing to pay you enough to be comfortable while actually running your own business could provide you the freedom and lifestyle you really want. Read my story about “War On The Dream Stealers”.
Take care!

MLM…been there done that…many different ones. Started off very successful..but you have to find “motivated people” Rare breed indeed ” a self motivated person” . You also have to be completely passionate & find others who feel the same..another task in itself since only a small percentage of people are self motivated & passionate to do what it takes. Then get that individual who finds that “this is it”. There are more then 20 No’s even after you get them to a presentation where you find one who is excited..then that one may be too broke to afford the start up package..or looses their fizzel after a few No’s & dream stealers say no to them…so truthfully, it takes years to achieve the income they promise is possible with MLM.
I sell advertising & it’s all about “on the spot” decision making or they get buyers remorse tomorrow…get them while their excited. Same goes for buying a car…heard of the ol cliche “used car saleman” ??
MLM is much like a bunch of used car saleman buttering up the program with alot of excitement & big dream promises to get you to sign the dotted line & write the check NOW. Been there…& then you have to motivate unmotivated people day after day after day to get them excited so that you can make money off their efforts….

Hi Dereck,
I really appreciate this article because of your no bias opinion and all the facts to back it up.
I’m a Small Business Internet Marketing Consultant that offers Web Development, Search Engine Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Branding and Mobile Media Marketing to local businesses in my area.
I’ve been looking for a company that will help me with Text Marketing for my clients and a week ago I was introduced to izigg. I did my research, compare prices, compare services and I could not believe what they have to offer plus their shortcode 90210 (that was the icing on the cake)
I don’t really care about sponsoring people because I don’t really want to have competition because I want to service all the local businesses in my area with Internet Marketing along with Mobile Marketing
However, I feel bad because in my state we have about 14% unemployment rate, I was one of them until I finally created a career for myself as a small business internet marketing consultant helping small-mid size business owners make more profit with better trackable marketing methods. I have clients from a small business, LLC to INC’s. On that note I will probably share this opportunity to only a few people that are qualified because we both know that there is a difference between employee mentality and employer mentality.
Our economy is in crisis and there are millions of business owners that are looking for new ways to market their business and whoever can help them will be the one making the big bucks. Imagine, if your services cost a business owner $1000/month and their getting a good ROI they will stay with you. Imagine if you have 50 clients paying $1000/month. That’s right buddy
Millionaires were made during the last depression. It’s up to us to reinvent ourselves to be an asset in our community and to help them solve their problems. I read once that you will be successful if you help a lot of people successful. That success concept is still true today.
God bless,
