Stacia Hopkins – Meet The New Face of Network Marketing
Posted on 07. Apr, 2011 by Dereck Arreguin in Interviews
I recently had a wonderful opportunity to sit down with one of the hottest new up and coming stars inside of the Network Marketing Industry. Her name…
<== STACIA HOPKINS
This Idaho native, shared with me some of the struggles she had when she first started, where she’s going now and what she has planned for the every bright future.
Me: Hey Stacia, thanks for sitting down with me today… would you share with the audience a little bit about you?
Stacia: Well… I live up in Boise Idaho, studied music at BYU, run my own business and use the power of video marketing to help me build it.
Me: What was the first initial reason why you got involved in the network marketing industry?
Stacia: Really, it was the association with the people inside of it. Their energy dreams and passion really sealed the deal for me.
Me: Was there any particular tool or resource that really helped you along the way?
Stacia: No, not really… but I was motivated and inspired by the new doors that were opened to me when I got in.
Me: Like what… Mentors?
Stacia: Yeah, like Anthony Robins, Lennon Ledbetter, and Jim Rohn. They really inspired me.
Me: What was the biggest hurdle that you’ve experienced since you started in the industry?
“It was when I generated my first lead. It was exhilarating…”
Stacia: HAHA… Well, it’s not as easy as it’s painted as being. One of my mentors mentioned to me that the benefit with this industry is that you work with people. The problem with the industry is that you work with people.
Me: So what made you turn to the internet? Was it for leads… income, what?
Stacia: What really made me turn the internet was the need for more answers. I had nothing left, no friends no family I could approach. Basically I was a frustrated member of the NFL (no friends left) club.
Me: How long have you been using the interent to help you build your business?
Stacia: About a year and a half.
Me: What was a major breakthrough for you since you’ve been building your business online?
Stacia: It was when I generated my first lead. It was exhilarating and I’ve been hooked ever since. And it was such an obstacle I remember setting it all up. But now I look back at it and realize it really wasn’t all that hard at all.
Me: Do you teach your new team members how to market online? And if you do, what kind of time frame are we talking about for the new comers?
Stacia: I do, and I take a very hands on approach. Usually it takes only a couple hours for a new person to get set up and really get going on their training.
“it was really scary… at first. I had no idea what to do or where to start”
Me: Do you leverage your time with any training systems? You… don’t have to mention any names if you don’t have too.
Stacia: Yes I do and it’s funny you should mention that. I actually created a video explaining exactly why and what I do on my blog.
Me: You wouldn’t mind if I gave a link straight to that posting would you?
Stacia: No not at all. In fact, I would really appreciate that. CLICK HERE
Me: Cool! So you recently did a major challenge a few months back called the YouIncStar Challenge, where you filmed yourself in all sorts of topics and areas. Tell us a little about what that was like.
Stacia: Well, it was really scary… at first. I had no idea what to do or where to start. I didn’t even have a camera. But my father did and I remember using it. It was one of those older duel picture taking… slash video camera deals. In other words, the quality really wasn’t all that good.
Me: What do you use now and what do you suggest?
Stacia: Definitely the Kodak Zi8
Me: How long and how many takes did it take you till the point where you were comfortable with your message?
Stacia: Oh, hundreds of takes!
Me: So now, that you have a healthy number of videos under your belt, does it really matter if the final result is perfect or not?
Stacia: NOPE! People seem to relate more to the imperfect. It’s kind of like the more mistakes you make, the more they can relate to you.
Me: What was a major lesson you learned from the challenge?
Stacia: Persistance, the A to Z in video marketing, Dedication and it also gave me an idea about a product I’m currently working on.
“Find a mentor, model what they do and do what it takes to work with them.”
Me: I heard you were creating your own product… can you tell us a little about what it is or is it like one of those… you’ve gotta kill me kinda things?
Stacia: HAHA, no! It’s a product that will help people to learn how to use video marketing to increase your exposure online. I figure I could save people tons of time and money by offering them tips, tricks and shortcuts that I had to overcome by myself.
Me: mmm… that sounds good! I’ll take two of those!
Stacia: …
Me: Nevermind… so in closing here Stacia, give us some words of advice that anyone that’s looking to start marketing online would need to hear.
Stacia: Find a mentor, model what they do and do what it takes to work with them.
Me: Wow that’s just powerful! I’m blown away and the value of that one sentence. Great job and also, thanks for allowing me to interview you. How can other people connect with you should they want to know more?
Stacia: Sure, well thanks for the interview first of all and if they want to get a hold of me, all they have to do is head over to StaciaHopkins.com and sign up for my free training video.
Me: Cool! Well thanks a ton Stacia, keep rocking and I’ll talk with you soon.
Stacia: Thanks Dereck, bye!

Great post, Dereck! I’ve loved Stacia’s blog, and I’m glad to see this interview. I definitely agree with her about the problem of running out of friends to talk about for the business. I keep hearing people say that you should follow the “three foot rule.” I could never bring myself to do that, but I decided that it’s better not to lose friends, and I’m really excited about the potential of the Internet to help a lot of us succeed.
